Dive a little deeper into Yoga

Language
of
Yoga

Understanding Yoga at its roots is fundamental to a well rounded practice. Sanskrit can be scary and Yogic philosophy can be overwhelming. So lets break it down into manageable bites that you can easily digest, enabling you to deepen your understanding of not only the practices, but yourself as well.

Asana

Yoga postures are definitely not a “one size fits all” kind of thing. To make the practice truly steady and comfortable, we have to fit the pose to our body, not our body to the pose. It’s important to find the essence of each posture and then to explore how that essence comes to life for you, by using props, changing the orientation of your body, or simply exploring a different way to expand into yourself.

Pranayama

Our breath can be a powerful tool to help us stay present, centered and feeling sane in this overwhelming world. In Yoga we refer to working with the breath as Pranayama, which means to harness the power of prana (life force energy), via the breath. Some translate Pranayama to breath control, but ultimately the practices are not about mastering control, but rather about creating freedom.
